Early Life
Salon Basnet was a child artist who did some plays and dancing competition from the very young age of his life. At age of 5, he had participated in dance program at Sabhagriha in the song "Hey Kancha" through which he earned his first income of 11 thousand. He was vocalist and bassist in his college band. He has been working as co-actor in some popular movies.

He finished his schooling from Bright Future Secondary School. He pursued his high school studies in Capital College and Research Center and completed his bachelor's in business studies from National Account College.
Professional Life
Salon officially debuted in Nepali movie industry in 2013 from movie Hostel. He played role of Junge in the film which was critically acclaimed by the viewers. He debuted along with Anmol KC, Prakriti Shrestha and Rista Basnet.
In 2016, Hostel boys reunited together in Gajalu, which was blockbuster movie. The film was slightly based on Kumari Pratha. The role of Salon as Jayson was highly acclaimed. Most of viewer said Salon was the eyeball of the movie.
