Asif Shah (आसिफ शाह) is a Nepali film actor, director, video jockey, producer, presenter, screenwriter and television host. Asif Shah began his career from channel Nepal in 2002 as a VJ and producer.

During his tenure in Channel Nepal, he produced and presented various music-related programmes. In 2003, he joined Nepal 1 channel as a senior producer and presenter where he produced and presented shows like Sanga Sangai, A day out with celebrity, Puruskar Dus Hajar and 4U. All these shows have garnered high TRP (Television Rating Points).

He has worked in Kantipur Television as well, where he produced and presented “KTV Shop”, and also in Image Channel as senior producer and presenter for the show “Image Platform” and Music of Your Choice”. During his tenure in Image Channel, he created promotions for “Music of Your Choice” and “Image Platform”.

After completing his schooling in Everest English School he pursued a hotel management degree in Ashirwad College, Kathmandu.

Career

He started his film direction career with Karkash (2013), which became super hit with high gross in box office within a week. Shah, after joining a band named the Unity along with Sudin Pokharel (DA 69) and Amit Sinha (Aidray) made his debut with Pahilo Maya (2006) and received overnight popularity for portraying modern youth love. The song also won various awards. Following it, The Unity made Aaja Pheri (2007) featuring popular singer Sugam Pokharel for which again received various awards in the country. The Unity went on to make the commercially successful songs like Chayanba, Juni Juni Prem and Aago (2007). There tribute song to singer and friend Cool Pokharel “Janu Cha Malai” received critical acclaim.

G21 Production is Asif Shah’s initiative as an independent AV production house, which he started in 2003. Since then, he has directed more than 200 music videos, more than 100 television commercials, short film “Sonam” on HIV aids awareness, documentary “USAID Asha Ka Kiranharu”, PSA “USAIDs’s 60 years”, produced radio spot for “ICRC”, has produced and directed multiple social and corporate videos.
